President
As President of Hedgewood Inc., Wayne fills a multi-dimensional role, including acting as general counsel for the related group of companies. He also takes on investment management responsibilities and provides strategic consulting to the Hedgewood portfolio companies.
Wayne is a proven senior executive and lawyer with over 25 years business experience, most recently as Executive Vice-President of Kingsdale Shareholder Service, a company involved in providing strategic consulting and other services to companies involved in takeover bids and proxy fights.
Prior to Kingsdale, Wayne was Editor-in-Chief of Lexpert, a division of Thomson Corporation, where he was responsible for the strategic direction of Lexpert Magazine and the Lexpert group of directories. He also founded law firm strategy and marketing consultant Lexoro Inc.
Wayne was formerly Executive Vice-President of private venture capital company Aprilis Ventures Ltd. where he additionally held executive positions within Aprilis portfolio companies including WebHosting.com, InQuent Technologies and VerticalScope.
Prior to Aprilis, Wayne practiced corporate law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, specializing in mergers and acquisitions.
Wayne holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto along with MBA and Bachelor of Science degrees from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
