At Hedgewood, we are believers in the long-term value of Internet “real estate”.  As such, we are interested in acquiring high value domain names.  We will purchase high value generic domains across a number of markets as well as geo-domains and domains suitable for branding.

Website Acquisitions

Hedgewood purchases websites, particularly sites that are generating significant monthly profit and have demonstrated continued growth in traffic. We are interested in sites that generate transactional revenue, recurring revenue, or advertising revenue. We will consider almost any vertical market, and have a particular interest in education, careers, automotive, and other high value industries.

Domain Name Acquisition and Financing

In addition to acquiring high value domain names, Hedgewood will also provide asset-based financing to companies seeking to use their domain names as collateral. This money can be used as working capital to continue to scale the business, or it can be used to finance additional domains to get the business off the ground. We will look at generic or other premium domains, especially those that have a history of generating significant type-in traffic.

Incubation of Proprietary Concepts

One of the traits of a serial entrepreneur, and a company run with an entrepreneurial spirit, is that there is always dialogue centered on innovation and debate centered on “what if”. At Hedgewood we are also focused on making “what if” a reality by incubating our own proprietary concepts. We know that not every idea will lead to a successful venture – but we have high expectations – and we know that hard work and high expectations leads to high achievement. While our focus is on incubating our own ideas, we will selectively work with other entrepreneurs in an incubator model to help them accelerate their business growth.
